Mawasi Finca Bed & Breakfast

Welcome to our dream come true, Mawasi finca! Since buying this property in January 2005 we have been lovingly building our dream place, with the help of friends and the local community. The word Mawasi is an indigenous word from one of the many groups of indigenous people either living or once living here in this amazing country, Colombia. It means something like “to have found a home from the earth”. Finca technically means farm, but it has also come to be known as a weekend home, kind of like a cottage but without the lake. The house is made of adobe bricks and stone both from the immediate area, wood and glass. There is a fireplace in the living area and in the bedroom.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Here  at Mawasi finca you can count the stars before you fall asleep, enjoy the view of Iguaque every morning from your bedroom window, shower in our private open air, hot water shower, practice some yoga in the warm sun and plan your day of hiking or sight seeing. We can pack you a lunch and make you dinner or you can think of it as a bed and breakfast only. Our small but comfortable accommodations are perfect for one couple but can be adjusted to accommodate a family of four or two single people. Mawasi finca is the perfect place to relax whether you are looking for a night or two in the countryside or planning a vacation of a week or two or more. We can also offer language lessons in either English or Spanish.
